The Porch and The Veranda


A double feature for Memorial Day! These easy, refreshing highballs share the same base topped with different mixers. Enjoy at a backyard barbecue or on your fire escape.


1 ounce Honey & Ginger syrup
1.5 ounces lemon juice 
2 ounces rye whiskey

Combine all ingredients with ice in Boston shaker. Shake until chilled. Double strain into a glass, fill with ice. Top as follows:

The Porch - top with flat or sparkling water

The Veranda - top with unsweetened iced tea

For a pitcher, multiply all base ingredients by 6. Combine in a pitcher with ice. Top with preferred mixer.
